Lorraine's passion for fashion and sewing started at the young age of 14.
Inspired by fashion books and magazines, Lorraine started out making dresses for friends and colleagues, then opened a small shop in Orchard. Today she takes each customer's measurements herself and drafts patterns to suit the body.

Fabric selection
Pick out your fabric
From elegant French lace to classy Shantung fabric, all our materials are specially sourced and imported from trusted sources. In-season fabrics change from year to year, so there is always something new. We also carry special in-house fabric, available only at Zion Creation.

Choosing the cut
Decide on the cut of your dress
Boat neck, cheongsam collar or Queen-Anne collar? Mermaid, A-line or asymmetrical skirt?
Your body shape plays a big part in what makes a flattering cut. In our 30 years of experience we have worked with women of all body shapes, including plus-size women and ladies with physical disabilities. With a custom-made piece, every element, from the collar type to the skirt length, is designed to suit your body.
Our in-house Demi-Couture collection is available in sizes XS up to 5XL.

Production
Production begins
Our Creative Director and founder, Lorraine, personally oversees the drawing of your pattern and the completion of your dress.
Most custom-made orders need a lead time of 3 to 6 months. If you need yours urgently, we offer an express service at an extra cost. We have made a piece from scratch in just 3 days.

Your fitting
Come for your fitting
When your dress is complete, we invite you to our Atelier at #07-08, The Commerze @ Irving to try it on. This is where we see whether any final alterations are needed.

A custom-made piece is an investment in yourself. At Zion Creation, we hope to empower every lady with a lovingly crafted dress.

A booking fee applies: $40 for appointments from Monday to Wednesday and $60 for Friday and Saturday appointments. If you need to cancel, please let us know at least 48 hours before your appointment and we will refund 50% of your booking fee. Cancellations made less than 48 hours before your appointment are unfortunately not refundable. Your booking fee can be credited towards the purchase of a piece priced at $499 or above. It cannot be used towards pieces priced below $499. If you can't decide during your appointment, your booking fee is held for one week for you to claim towards a purchase; we do not hold or reserve pieces.

Before you start
What to wear.
Avoid thick clothing such as jeans or woven material while you take your measurements. It is best to wear a comfortable dress with good supporting undergarments, the kind you plan to wear on the day of your event.
How to measure
Three simple steps.

Find your waist
The easiest way is to place your hand on the side of your body and fold your arms. Your elbow will rest on your waistline, which is about 1.5 inches (3.8 cm) above your belly button.

Tie a string or ribbon around your waistline. We use it as a reference point for your other measurements.

Zion Creation's in-house sizing chart is based on 30 years of experience in women's fashion and is tailored to Asian body types.
Every gown and cheongsam is hand-crafted individually, with allowances for alterations for in-between sizes. So every piece can be personalised for you, no matter your size.

Zion Creation Couturier is an independent boutique and manufacturer of ladies' fashion. For more than 30 years we have specialised in custom-made modern cheongsams and evening gowns.
Alongside our custom work, we make a range of hand-made Demi-Couture cheongsams and evening gowns. Our designs, choice of fabric, colour combinations and artistic craftsmanship are made to highlight your best assets and help you stand out.

How Zion Creation grew.
1993
Zion Creation is formed
We begin as an independent boutique and manufacturer, designing and producing casual dresses in knit stretch fabrics.
1996
Lorraine's Craft in the Spotlight
Lorraine is featured in Lianhe Zaobao for her work in clothing alterations, having already spent more than a decade developing her craft. The article highlights her dedication to transforming garments to fit each individual customer.
We move into evening formal wear and have specialised in custom-made modern cheongsams and evening gowns ever since. Many of the seamstresses in our team have been with Lorraine since this year.
2002
Experience in Indian Fashion
Tamil Murasu features Lorraine for her work designing and creating Indian garments. Drawing from her training in sewing and fashion design, she developed modern interpretations of Indian clothing and designed outfits for beauty-pageant contestants, working with delicate sari fabrics that demanded precision and expertise.

Meet Lorraine
The soul of the company.
All of this is made possible by our founder and chief designer, Lorraine. She oversees each piece from start to finish. Working alongside a team of talented seamstresses, she personally takes your measurements, drafts the paper pattern for the best fit for your body shape, and checks the quality of your piece.
Lorraine's passion for fashion and sewing started at the age of 14. Inspired by fashion books and magazines, she began by making dresses for friends and colleagues. She then boldly opened a very small shop in Orchard.
Her work gained recognition when she was invited to be an in-house designer for a well-known fabric shop on Arab Street. Well-known boutiques and high-end jewellery companies have since asked her to design gowns for their fashion shows. Her clients include public figures, wives of ministers, professionals, tai-tais, Mothers of the Bride and Groom, and anyone who needs a special dress or cheongsam.
Lorraine commits her work to the Lord Jesus and asks Him for wisdom and creativity. About 90% of her pieces are a perfect fit on the first try, and she gives all the glory to God.

Our pieces and services
Do you only do custom tailoring?
We also offer Demi-Couture pieces, which can be altered to fit you like a custom-made outfit. All of them are handcrafted locally by us in our own workshop, so our team of experienced and passionate seamstresses can make accurate, superb alterations and make sure your chosen outfit fits you perfectly.
Do you only sell cheongsams?
While we specialise in cheongsams, we offer custom tailoring for all ladies' wear. We also sell evening gowns, cocktail dresses, tops, skirts, shawls and shoes.
Do you have a wider range of clothing available in store?
Yes! Our outfits are all handmade individually, and only one of each piece exists. So we cannot upload every design we have online.
Our Retail Outlet carries a whole collection of handcrafted Demi-Couture pieces for you to browse. When you visit in person, we can also advise on the styles and fabrics that suit your body type and preferences best.
Do you offer rental services?
Zion Creation is an independent fashion house devoted to crafting pieces that fit every client perfectly. Because of the nature of our business, we do not offer rental services.

Our standard service takes 3 weeks. Express service is available within 1 week, and rush fees may apply. If you need your piece sooner than 3 weeks, tell us your date when you book and we will confirm whether it is possible.
Can you alter pieces I bought elsewhere?
Yes. Book an alteration appointment and bring your garment. Our tailors will assess it and confirm what can be done. There is no booking fee for alteration appointments. Learn about our alteration service.

Which one should I visit?
The Atelier is for premium designs, bespoke services, personal consultations, fittings, alterations and more in-depth styling. An appointment is required.
The Retail Outlet is for archival sales, more affordable pieces and Demi-Couture pieces to take home. You are welcome to walk in.
Is there a booking fee for appointments?
It depends on the service you book.

1Returns & Exchanges
We accept returns and exchanges for selected items within 3 days of item delivery. Items need to be returned to us within 7 days of delivery, in original condition (unwashed, unworn, tags still intact, in original packaging). Delivery cost will be borne by the buyer.
All items go through a stringent quality control check before they are shipped out. In the rare event that you receive a defective product, kindly contact us immediately with details and pictures of the item.

2Production Time for Altered and Custom-Made Orders
All our gowns and cheongsams are individually hand-crafted from scratch. Production time for custom-made pieces will vary depending on design and fabric availability.
We will do our best to keep to the fabrication timeline of 3 to 6 months. However, there may be delays during peak season or high-volume orders. Should that happen, we seek your kind understanding to give us some extra time to process your order. You will be updated on the status of your order by email or text message.
3Shipment Time
All items will be shipped out within a week once the order is ready and payment has been made. Items are usually shipped by Express (DHL) or Standard (Speedpost Singapore). Local customers can opt to pick up their gowns at our Atelier.
Please note that shipment time does not include production time.
4Appointment Booking Fees
Appointments for Bespoke Services / Demi-Couture have a booking fee of $40 for Monday to Wednesday and $60 for Friday and Saturday. If you cancel at least 48 hours before your appointment, we will refund 50% of your booking fee. Cancellations made less than 48 hours before your appointment are not refundable.
If you need to change your appointment date, please let us know at least 48 hours in advance. Changing your date does not make the booking fee refundable.
There is no booking fee for alteration appointments.
5Booking Fee Hold Period
If you are unable to make a decision during your appointment, your booking fee will be held for one week from the date of your appointment. During this one-week period, you may return and claim the booking fee by purchasing a piece priced at $499 or above. The booking fee cannot be credited towards pieces priced below $499.
If no purchase is made within the one-week period, the booking fee will be forfeited.
Zion Creation does not hold or reserve pieces for customers.
6Alterations
Alterations are charged separately and are not included in the garment price, unless specifically stated. Alterations start from $80, depending on the type and complexity of the alteration. The final price is confirmed after our tailors assess your garment.
Our standard alteration service takes 3 weeks. Express service is available within 1 week, and rush fees may apply.

One booking form per person trying on dresses.
If you are attending with a friend or family member and both of you wish to try on dresses, each person must complete a separate booking form and pay their own appointment fee. A single booking covers one person's consultation only.
